6 Roberto is visiting the city for work and has Sunday morning free before his flight. He wants to do something relaxing outdoors but doesn’t want to travel far from the city centre. He isn’t really into history, but loves looking at plants and flowers.

7 Nadia and her two young children (aged 5 and 7) are looking for something to do on a rainy Saturday. The children have lots of energy and need an activity where they can move around freely. Nadia would prefer somewhere she can sit and have a coffee while watching them.

8 Carlos wants to do something active on Saturday afternoon with his 13-year-old son. They both enjoy a physical challenge and a bit of competition. They are not interested in team sports but want something where they can try to beat their own previous score.

9 Emily has a free Sunday afternoon and wants to go somewherepeaceful to read a book for a couple of hours. She doesn’t want to sit in a noisy café or a busy park. She’ll probably get hungry around 2:30 and would like to eat something proper, not just a snack or a drink.

10 Viktor and his girlfriend want to do something on Saturday night that feels like an event. They want to be somewhere with lots of people and a fun buzz. They plan to eat while they are there but they hate waiting for a waiter to bring a bill. They are happy to try new flavours.

A. City Botanic Gardens
Located just a 10-minute walk from Central Station. Famous for the Tropical Glasshouse with over 2,000 species. Open daily 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Free entry. Note: The café is currently closed for renovation; only a small coffee cart is available at the main gate.

B. Clip ‘n Climb Indoor Centre
A huge indoor climbing arena with walls designed with both teenagers and adults in mind. No experience needed. Perfect for burning off energy. Parents can watch from the mezzanine lounge which serves hot drinks and snacks. Electronic timing system lets you race against your own best time.

C. The Artisan Food Market
Every day 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. in the old Market Square. Over 30 street food vendors selling dishes from Korea, Mexico, Lebanon, and more. Live music from local bands. Casual seating on shared benches. No booking required.

D. Riverside Gallery: Local Landscapes Exhibition
A peaceful gallery on the river path (20-min walk from centre). Features watercolour paintings by 19th-century local artists. The gallery has a highly rated vegetarian café on the ground floor serving lunch until 3:30 p.m. Gift shop sells art supplies.

E. Saturday Morning Bootcamp
Free outdoor fitness class in Memorial Park. 9 a.m. sharp. High-intensity team games and relay races suitable for adults and teens. Bring water and a towel. Cancelled if raining.

F. Lakeside Putt & Play
A 9-hole crazy golf course with a jungle theme located 15km outside the city (car or bus 45 required). Suitable for all ages. Open Friday evening and all day Saturday/Sunday. Small kiosk sells ice cream and cold drinks only.

G. Soft Play Village
A large indoor play centre with slides, ball pools, and climbing frames. Dedicated zone for under-8s. Free Wi-Fi and a large seating area with a full café menu for adults. Open 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. every day. No pre-booking needed on Saturdays.

H. Escape Hunt Experience
Test your brain power in a themed room. You have 60 minutes to solve puzzles and find the key to get out. Great for families with older children (recommended 10+) or groups of friends. Requires advance booking online. Located in the basement of the Central Library.
